Adventure
It seems to me like there are two types of people in the world. Those who “go for the gold” and those who are paralyzed by the thought of even stepping up to the starting line. Of course, there are folks who start the race and then turn around, giving up and quitting, believing that the race is impossible to finish. Some folks don’t try to run because if they can’t finish the race perfectly, then why even try?!
How do you run your life’s races?
Do you go flat-out and see what happens?
Do you stop mid-stream?
Do you stand still in fear of what might happen?
None of us knows what will happen during life’s race and how the end will play out. However, if you spend your entire life worrying about the outcome, then, you’ll never live your life!
I like to see life as an adventure. You know, being blind, I never know what I’m going to encounter when I walk down the street. There could be small cracks, large faults, sticks, stones, leaves, ice, rocks, hoses, grocery carts, bikes, barking dogs, or a truck blocking the side walk. I have to be ready for anything. And how do I do that, you may ask? I wear sturdy shoes and I pick up my feet!
How do we run the race of life like an adventure? The same way! You prepare yourself daily, pray, meditate, exercise, eat what works for your body to be healthy, get enough sleep, read your goals, do what is yours to do, and breathe, run, and go for your gold!
Will there be trips and falls? Yes. Will there be times when you curse your circumstances? Yes. There are always obstacles; however, it’s how you handle them that matters.
I choose to put my foot out, see what’s in front of me, check it out, and keep moving forward. I challenge you to do the same. See your life as a walk down the sidewalk. Pick up your feet and if you don’t like the one that you are on, change directions. You have the choice and you have the power. Remember, you are the champion of your destiny. Change the way you run your race, Change the way you see and Change the way you live.
