Releasing Chains

We all have mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, or creative chains that bind us. Some are thick, some thin, some long, and some short. Some chains are invisible until they wrap themselves around our necks strangling us until we can no longer breathe. Then, and only then, do we become conscious and aware of their existence, and we have to rip them off in order to stay alive; or that’s what we think.

A spiritual coach once said to me, “At the end of the day we all will do what we want to do.” True. No one can make us do anything. What makes us keep on keeping on; resisting freeing ourselves from cutting off our binding chains?

Perhaps our resistance comes from the fact that we don’t want to hurt someone else’s feelings, or, we don’t want to face it, or, we don’t want to let go of that thing, or, we don’t want to admit defeat, or, perhaps we don’t want to have wasted our time, energy, and money with doing it needlessly. Our egos tell us we “Should” want to do it. And yet, if we were to be honest with ourselves, we just purely and simply don’t want to!

Whatever the chain/resistance is, it will persist until you consciously and totally release it.

What invisible chains are wrapping around your neck?

Career?

Something in your environment?

A relationship?

A habit?

A negative thought?

What if you released whatever it is that is binding you?

What would your life look like without that particular chain?

What if you let go of your ego and followed your heart?

I’m imagining you’d feel lighter and freer! For you see, you don’t have to know the “How.” You don’t have to know “The Plan.” You don’t even have to know “The Answer.” You just have to be willing to let go. As they say, “Let go, and let God.”

In order to release your chain, you may need to journal, write down your pros and cons, send an email, or talk with someone. You’ll need to see your Vision clearly, let go of being a Victim and take responsibility, be willing to be Vulnerable and express your feelings and truth, be open to Vitality and the wisdom and power of action, and to allow your Self Voice to stand tall in your greatness. You need to let go of the old way of being in order to embrace the new.

I challenge you to pick up one of your chains, examine it, see it for what it is, and then take the necessary action steps to gently and lovingly take it off, release it, and let it go. The chain was there to serve you; however, now, you’ve outgrown it. There’s a new, more improved beautiful necklace waiting for you to wear. A great affirmation is, “I am free, I am unlimited. There are no chains that bind me. I am free, I am unlimited, Right now! Right now!” (Wings of Song hymnal Silent Unity)

You have power and choice. You have the power and choice to be the creator and champion of your destiny. You have the power and choice to follow your heart, not your ego. You have the power and choice to let your chain be your wings, not your weight. And, you have the power and choice to change the way you see, and change the way you live.
