Changing Your Energy

The Universe on September 20, 2021, says, “In moments of high stress, anxiety, or fluster, Gail, instead of hoping, wondering, or worrying, remember your double-secret resources of skipping, twirling, and humming.”

This sounds good to me! Change the energy! That would exactly fit into Lynn Grabhorn’s philosophy in her book Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting and anything that has been written or spoken by Ester or Jerry Hicks.

At times, we all want to wallow in our Self-pity. In a way, doing so is fun for it brings us—in a not so healthy way—comfort.

I remember when I was depressed and suicidal—twenty-five years ago—that I loved nothing more than to sleep all day. My bed faced east and staying there until noon was quite the norm. I hated feeling depressed and sad, and yet, I loved ignoring the world and not being responsible. No matter how much my psychotherapist encouraged me to move, I psychologically resisted. I wanted to be happy, yet, I didn’t want to do anything to get a better life.

Eventually, the ending of a long-term relationship forced me to climb out of bed and to take action. I had to face my feelings and step into reality. In the long run, that horrendous transition was the best medicine for my soul. Twenty-five years later, I’m an entirely different person. I get up at 6 am most mornings, exercise, journal, pray, meditate, feel blessed for my life, and step forward with curiosity and joy.

Last year I wrote a blog entitled “The Boomerang Effect” in which I talk about the law of attraction and how sixteen seconds of positivity or negativity reflects that same feeling and energy back to us. We have a choice and can change what we are thinking and how we are feeling in a split second.

If you need a little tweak in attitude today, why not try Mike Dooley’s suggestion from “The Universe” and stand up, skip a few skips, twirl a few twirls, and hum a few notes? In this way, you can change the way you feel and see, and can change the way you live.

P.S. If you are blind, take care in skipping and twirling and put your hands out. Walls aren’t best friends with faces, lips, and teeth! ?
