How to Break the Passion Barrier

What stops us from living a life of our passions?

Is it our outer circumstances?

Is it societal conditions?

Did someone tell us no?

Whatever that thing was that happened to us in the past, we then believed what they said was true. We took their words on and wore them like a coat of armor. We told ourselves that nothing or no one will ever harm us again! Before we knew it, their beliefs were ours-enmeshed together into oneness, like water and dirt turning into mud.

The passion barrier can be real if based on external circumstances, i.e., those outside ourselves. However, most of the time, our passion barriers are internally constructed and are frequently based on attitudes we learned when we were children and have little to do with our present lives. From this internal perspective, we subconsciously create beliefs of having low expectations of what we and/or others can accomplish. This is our ego, which is living in fear, which tells us no, who says we can’t do it, who tells us over and over again that we’re not good enough. Our ego is flat out wrong! Our ego is human-based and is false!

The good news is, the Barrier to our Passion can be broken-similar to the sound barrier. We must stop, breathe, and look inside our hearts for our truth, our passion, to our love! Looking inward is the key to outward freedom and passion.

Silent Unity’s publication of The Daily Word, reading for Saturday, May 17, 2025, says in part, “My passions and gifts are how I shine the light of God into the world.” … Let me repeat that again: “My passions and gifts are how I shine the light of God into the world.”

This means, in order to break the passion barrier, we must say yes. Yes, to new opportunities and experiences. Yes, to be willing to be open and vulnerable. Yes, to love and to be loved. Yes, to be at peace, joy, and kindness. Say yes to life.

This requires us to be present in the moment! Live in the now and in our hearts! We must be the change! We must be the person we were born and meant to be. We must not allow our light to be hidden under a bushel! We must let our little lights shine throughout the city. For in the dark there is always light! We must be the light! We must be the voice of hope! We must be ourselves! We are right here, right now, for a reason! Our smallness is not who we are meant to be! We are meant for greatness. We are meant to spread our wings! We are meant for good!

The challenge is for you to believe in yourself! Soar into your life with passion and all the energy of one who is free! You are meant for this moment in time! Create your destiny! Sing your song! Be the voice of hope! Be the voice of peace! Be the voice of joy! And be the voice of love! In this way, you will shine your light out into the world and in doing so, you will change the way you see and change the way you live!
