Fung Shui Magic
Most likely, you’ve heard of Fung Shui by now. When I owned my former Habitat for Humanity home, I used Fung Shui in every room to optimize positive energy.
According to the Oxford dictionary, Fung Shui is “(in Chinese thought) a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy (qi), and whose favorable or unfavorable effects are taken into account when siting and designing buildings.” Feng shui is important, because it’s good to invite positive chi into your home so that your life feels both energized and balanced, and it’s a relatively simple way to improve the vibes of your space.
As I wrote in last week’s blog, I’ve been clearing out nine items per day and will do this for twenty-seven days. Within the first eight days, I’ve been amazed by the clutter I’ve been able to rid myself of. Clothes, Braille music, battery candles, a tambourine, an amplifier, furniture, and plastic bags; to mention a few. I’ve rearranged my office printer, cleared out storage under my desk (plus the desk drawers), and have cleared out most of the shelves in my credenza—not to mention that spatula!
Here’s what I’ve noticed, it’s:
- Really nice to get rid of stuff I no longer use
- Good for my psyche
- Great seeing how energy works firsthand in the universe
- Fun watching the focus on one thing affect the energy in other areas of my life
- Magical watching the power of letting go and letting God in
After some stagnation, this week I:
- Hired and connected with the editor for the second edition of my memoir
- Did some major work in updating my website
- Found a lost dog ball after eight months
- Had a friend bring me some extra meals
- Got asked to give a training on Blind Economy for the NFB state convention
- Got Hotel covered for the upcoming NFB convention
The great thing about this Fung Shui challenge is, I didn’t go into it with the idea of what I’d get out of it. I’m doing it for the challenge of clearing out nine things for twenty-seven days. My focus has only been on this. The other blessings are due to the fact that God is doing God and/or the cosmic energy is shifting. By me clearing out the old I’m making space for the new.
So, this begs the question, did you take me up on the Fung Shui challenge from my last week’s blog?
Have you noticed any physical or mental shifts?
Have any synchronicities or unexpected blessings come your way?
I know this may sound woo-woo to some! Yet, the universe is made up of energy. The stars and moon move in perfect alignment. The waves rise and fall in harmony. Birds migrate, seasons evolve, leaves fall, and snowflakes soon follow. Everything is as it should be in divine order.
