We all have a song, a theme, a purpose that we’ve come to earth to sing. Maya Angelo’s was, “I Rise”. No matter what other people said to her, how they tried to knock her down, or what actions they did to her, she always rose above. Rose above to write poetry. Rose above to write books. Rose above to be an activist. Maya Rose sings her song her way.

What is your passion?  

We all have a song, a purpose, a passion. Some folks say they don’t know. I’ve even said this to myself and others at various times in my life. And yet, I’ve found if I listen to the soft whisper inside my heart, there’s one theme that rises above all else.   

Mine, like Maya’s, is to rise above, fly, and be free. “My desire to fly must be bigger than my fear of falling”. This desire is bigger and stronger than my fear of falling. No matter how folks have discriminated against me, told me I couldn’t and tried to stop me from living my dreams, I still keep going. I keep singing my song my way. Every day, I put one foot in front of the other. I face my fears. I keep spreading and flapping my wings. This is how I write these blogs. This is why I’m writing books. My desire, passion, and purpose are to inspire you to live an unstoppable, unforgettable unbelievable life of greatness. My passion is to raise you up and expand your wings.   

I rise!   

I sing!  

The trick is to never give up. You may sit for a while and ponder life, and yet, giving up isn’t an option.   

You rise! You stand! You sing! You have a song and a purpose! Keep walking to find that purpose. It’s okay to try one thing and another, and another, and another. All good. You know, in the movie Forest Gump, Forest said, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” However, if you eat enough chocolates, you’ll find your favorite. You rise! You sing, and, you sing your way!  

By eating enough chocolates, trying something new, being bold, rising above in the only way you can rise, and by expanding your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wings you will without doubt, change the way you see and you will change the way you live.
