The Magician’s Hat
After waking this morning, feeding Miss Ava and taking her out, making my traditional smoothie, washing my dishes and teeth, I sat down in my recliner to read the Daily Word and to journal. The two passages that caught my attention were:
The “ability to envision is a potent reminder of my divinity, my oneness with God. Just as there is no limitation in the Divine, there is no limitation to what I can imagine. I dream big and dare to live boldly, with the confidence that comes from knowing I have the power of God within me.”
“We look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen, for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
Wow! These passages began my mind to soar into creativity. My fingers began to fly over the Braille keys of my Brailliant computer.
We have the power! The power, like magicians, to wave our magic wands and create our lives the way we choose.
We can’t avoid the yin and yang of life. When emotional or physical concerns arise within me, when life disappointments weigh me down, I withdraw. I go inward. Sometimes I’m aware of this spiral, and other times not. Then, ever so slowly, I come back to balance. Back to my ever-expanding Self. This yin and yang, balancing act is constantly tugging at my heart and mind. And yet, through life’s challenges, I remind myself that I have a choice. I can keep my eyes forward. I can move my feet in front of me. I can stretch out my hands. I have the ability to learn, grow, and focus on what’s next.
The past six years have felt like a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs. First, there was the pandemic, and what to do with myself while being housebound.
UP: beginning to write blogs, over 300 now, and going on numerous podcasts around the globe. And hiring a publisher to assist me in my writing and speaking career.
Down: A year later, getting a guide dog six from the Seeing Eye in Morristown, New Jersey, Miss Maggie, and having to come home after five days due to the fact that I hurt my knee in training.
Up: Getting Miss Ava a year later.
Down: Discovering the publisher was not above board and took me for 10K.
Up: Having the honor of speaking at the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado Education Conference and Trade Show at the Colorado Convention Center.
Down: Walking away hopeful and then receiving no referrals afterward.
Ever since then, through blogging, these career challenges, coupled with health ones as well, have tried to pull me down and misdirect my focus.
Only now do I feel like I’m beginning to stand on secure ground. I’m getting ready to publish a workbook, Soaring into Your Greatness, How to Live an Unstoppable, Unforgettable, Unbelievable Life. At the same time, I’m writing my next book: Embracing the Sky: Still Flying, One Wing at a Time.
Without envisioning tomorrow — the sun rising, the air moving in and out of my lungs — there would be despair and depression. And I, along with you, have fallen into those times. And yet, I believe it’s how long we stay down. What matters is our faith to stand back up and our willingness to cling to others for support.
At the end of the day, we are Beings of light, of Spirit, of love, shining bright. We must allow our beams to shine within ourselves and out to others. The good, the light must and will prevail. It’s the unseen that is important. Our dreams! Our passions! The envisioning of our futures! Our hopes! Our creativity! Our possibilities!
Our past is behind us. We cannot do anything about those circumstances now. Just as we cannot do anything about the circumstances in our outer world. What lies ahead and within us is strong! We are the magicians! We hold the wand in our hand! We are the creators of our destinies! We are the composers of our symphonies! We have the power! We have the vision! We can be the people we choose to be in the world! It’s up to us to believe! To be strong! To step into our magnificent Selves! Perhaps the real magician’s hat is the human spirit itself — endlessly capable of pulling hope, courage, creativity, and faith from places we thought were empty.
We are the champions! Let your magician Self out! Believe in your greatness, not your smallness! Believe in your possibilities, not your limitations! Believe, have faith, and stand in the unseen, and in this way, you’ll change the way you see and change the way you live.
