Tapestry of Positivity

Just as we are woven together (like a tapestry) to God, Self, and others, the colors of our threads are determined by our positive or negative attitudes. We weave ourselves with faith, attitude, and action. Our colors are tied together and flow easily from dark to light.

Wonder what your tapestry looks like?

When you reflect on your life today, do you have more dark or more light colors in it?

Are you vibrant and alive or are you being victimized by your circumstances?

We all have times when we are sad and unhappy. It’s how we pick ourselves up that matters. It’s how long we allow ourselves to remain on the ground and how long it takes us to ask for help.

Even when times are challenging and our threads dark, one surefire way to change our attitude is to have one of gratitude. Sometimes when I can’t fall asleep, I start to name all the objects in my bedroom mentally saying, “Thank you God for my room. Thank you for the walls that hold the ceiling up. Thank you for the door that opens and closes” and so on. After I go through and name the furniture, I go for everything small on my dresser and even how many clothes in my closet can I remember to thank God for. This exercise serves two purposes. First, it helps me fall asleep, and second, it reminds me to be grateful for everything I have

Positivity is a good thread to have in our tapestry. We are happier, more alive and vibrant. When we are full of energy, good things just naturally start to be drawn to us.

While you are lying in bed tonight, why not list the things you are grateful for? I promise you’ll wake up tomorrow morning a little lighter. You may notice your attitude is one of gratitude. You might even have a whistle in your step and a song in your heart. Over time, you will notice that your tapestry’s colors have slowly and surely changed.

Your light colors are brighter and, your dark colors are not as dark. You have changed the way you see and you have changed the way you live.
