Victim verses Creator
It is impossible to feel you are the creator of your circumstances without feeling that you have been victimized by them at some point during your life.
Have you ever been discriminated against?
Have you ever felt depressed?
Have you ever faced the death of a loved one?
Have you ever been divorced?
Have you ever had issues with family, friends, faith, or finances?
These kinds of challenges are hard to overcome! Yet, I’m confident, and believe, that all things are possible and you can get through them. I know, because I’ve faced all these things and more, and I am now living the life I want – a life of greatness.
Let’s talk about being a victim versus a creator of your life’s circumstances. There are two sides to every situation or coin, right? Light dark, good bad, right wrong. Of course, it is so much more fun to live in the positive compared to the negative. It is more fun to be authentic rather than dishonest. It is more fun to be connected to source than not. And, it is more fun to take action than to stand still.
Last month, when two cherished long-time friends suddenly passed away and disappeared from my life, I felt devastated, abandoned, and deep grief. I forgot my light and felt like a victim. It brought up other past times in my life when I felt this way.
When I’m being a victim, I notice that I try to fix other’s circumstances. I want to rescue them from their own behaviors. I want to control them – they should do it my way. I push away my feelings. I feel powerless. At other times I analyze, blame, and/or judge myself and others. And, I have a hard time taking responsibility for my actions or behaviors. I experience lack, darkness, feeling stuck, timid, chaotic, unfocused, and/or weak. Have you ever felt this way or acted in this manner?
Once I remembered that I have choice and I have power, my focus changes and I return to being the creator of my destiny. I bring to mind my favorite affirmations. I am the Divine light of God in expression. I am whole and holy. I am peaceful, loving, and wise. I am free. I know down to my soul that all things are possible and everything is right with the world.
The next time you are feeling like you are on the dark side of the coin, feeling hopeless and lost, just remember this little-known song by John Denver.
“All this joy, all this sorrow,
All this promise, all this pain;
Such is life, such is Being,
Such is Spirit, such is love.”
The quicker you can see through the dark, acknowledge its presence, feel the feelings, realize that everything has its own timing, reason and purpose, know you are not alone, and all will be well soon, the quicker you’ll flip to the light and see the amazing person you are. The Unstoppable, Unforgettable, Unbelievable you! Now, go be a creator of your destiny, and change the way you see, and change the way you live.
