When the World is Upside Down

Last week, the morning host on Colorado Public Radio, (CPR classical station) read a poem called, (I believe), “When the World is Upside Down.” This seemed like a really cute children’s poem. In essence, I’m using poetic license here, the poem went something like this.

When the world is upside down, the sun will shine at night, and the moon will shine during the day.
Elephants will be the size of cats
Cats will chase dogs
And smiles will be frowns and frowns smiles

This got me thinking.

When the world is upside down
We will wear pajamas during the day to work and to play
Cookies, ice cream, popcorn, and pancakes will have zero calories
Flying cars will be for people with disabilities and able-bodied folks will need to drive on the ground
The poor people will be rich and the rich-poor

When the world is upside down
Sun will shine all night long
Classical music will be on all radio stations
We will walk on the ceiling
We will have wings to fly

When the world is upside down
We will wear fun clothes like children do with various colors and designs.
People will stop by to say hello
Communications will be done in person or verbally over the phone
Service animals will be welcomed everywhere without question

When the world is upside down
Pets will stay at home at all times
Politics will be ruled by fairness, not greed and power
Global warming will dissipate
Fish and birds will walk while monkeys and giraffes will fly

When the world is upside down
We will never need to walk on icy and snow-packed streets
Rain will fall only during the night
Neighbors will be quiet and respectful
Peace will prevail

When the world is upside down

I wonder what you’d write if you wrote a poem entitled When the World is Upside Down?
Can you allow your imagination to flow?
Can you create the world of your dreams?

When the world is upside down, our imaginations can take over. And, since thoughts become things, maybe some of these creations aren’t so outlandish! When the world is upside down, people will buy all my books, ask me to speak and conduct workshops, have me be a regular guest on their podcasts and radio shows, and I’ll give in gratitude to zillions of charities. When your world is upside down, and when you live in creativity, fun, expansion, and joy, you will evolve and change the way you see and change the way you live.
