Resilience

As the Daily Word from Silent Unity said regarding resilience On November 30, 2023: “I am strong and resilient as I meet life’s changes.

Life is about perspective. Sometimes I feel I am sailing smooth waters and sometimes I feel I am bobbing in waves, just keeping my head above the surface. In these times, I pray—keeping my mind and heart attuned to God within. My soul rises. I am buoyant, able to ride the waves of life.
If I find myself resisting change, I remember I can adapt to shifting circumstances and rediscover my peace. I keep my life in perspective, knowing there are no coincidences and all is in divine order. I have the power to make everything that happens in my life for my good.

I am strong, yet flexible. I live lightly. I bounce back from disappointment. My life experiences, both good and bad, strengthen my resolve and enrich my outlook.
Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, and be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13”

In my own words, resilience is to bounce back from whatever is thrown at us, face the storms of life, and be strong and grounded.

Just as we stand in the corner when the winds of the tornado strike our house, we must stand strong against the winds of chaos, disappointment, sadness, and change. We know intellectually the storm will pass; however, in the midst, we can’t see tomorrow’s sun.

I think the two things that must ground us are our faith in God and the love and support from our family and friends. Without these two things, the storm is much harder to endure.

As I wrote in my workbook-soon to come out-Faith.

“Alignment is when we love unconditionally, walk without worry, trust when we are afraid, let go, relax, breathe, and let God do God’s magic. Alignment is believing without seeing, knowing that everything is in divine order, appreciating the good in all things and all people, and giving gratitude for the abundance that flows to us, through us, and from us at all times. Alignment is being aware of our physical senses, willing to tap into and express our internal feelings, being willing to be open, honest, vulnerable, and authentic, and then sharing ourselves with others in a loving, peaceful, kind manner. Having faith in something bigger than ourselves, thus being in alignment, is the foundation and cornerstone of living an unstoppable, unforgettable, and unbelievable life.”

Yet, we have a hard time walking by faith alone. We need others to hold us up when times are tough. Let people in. Being strong doesn’t mean being stoic. Strong is the willingness to be vulnerable. Strong is crying on a friend’s shoulder. Strong is facing feelings and feeling them. Strong is letting your friends share in your heart’s pain.

Though you might bend over and touch the ground during the storm, I promise you, you will not break.

Faith and love will guide you on your path’s journey. Faith and love will help you stand amid the tornadic winds. Faith and love will hold you up and make you strong. Remember, God never gives you anything more than you can bear. You can do this. You will make it through the storm. You are never alone. Allow the love, light, power, and presence of God to surround, enfold, watch over, and protect you. Let this truth wash over you. In this way, you’ll change the way you see, and you’ll change the way you live.
