How to Recharge Your Battery

This morning upon waking, I discovered my iPhone was totally dead. A couple hours later, after breakfast, when I went to journal, my Braille computer/Brilliant also was totally dead. Hmm! I asked myself, I wonder what’s the spiritual significance and/or lesson for me here?

Amazing to me, I noticed I wasn’t angry with myself! Nor, did I blame the devices! They had nothing to do with the fact they weren’t charged! Obviously, I was the one who wasn’t focused on my task when I “put them to bed” last night. Recognizing this, I plugged the two devices into the wall and made sure they were charging before I walked away.

How often do our personal, psychological, emotional, career, financial, or spiritual batteries run out of juice?

How do we handle ourselves when this happens?

Do we go with the flow or do we get angry?

The trick-at least for me to recharge before getting to “Low battery, 0%,” because once there, it’s really difficult to recharge myself and to get back on track!

Thinking you may have this issue as well, I have found some useful daily practices when I implement them to ensure my batteries last a long time no matter what my life challenges might be.

Ten Battery Rechargers

1. Get no less than seven and no more than nine hours of sleep every night

2. Eat five to nine fresh fruits and vegetables every day

3. Exercise thirty minutes each day

4. Read ten minutes of something spiritual or inspirational before bed

5. Take five minutes to relax some moment during the day

6. Do something creative and/or artistic during the day

7. Have a conversation with another human being each day

8. Get out of the house every single day

9. Find some way to be of service to others daily, weekly, or monthly

10. Join a spiritual community of similar beliefs and connect with them often

Your batteries are rechargeable! You have the ability to get up and plug yourself in! Though other people may assist you in your life’s journey, you are the one to make sure you are connected to life’s current. The challenge is to take inventory and assess where you are with the above ten areas in your life. If some area needs a little tweaking, then, do so now rather than later. It’s easy to blame and get angry rather than plug into our Self for our answers. We forget, that we really are spiritual beings having a human experience. And, as spiritual beings, we have the ability every day to change the way we see and change the way we live!
