Hand and Hart of Harmony
Harmony was the theme of the Daily Word for July 8, 2025, put out in the Daily Word Magazine by Silent Unity. Harmony is in the planets, the seasons, and within every human heart. As in the introduction of the Gestalt Institute of Professional Studies training manual states:
“… All human beings have a basic drive toward emotional and physical health, toward a mind-body integration, and homeostasis. This drive toward wholeness and balance is accomplished through the expression of awareness, (and) acceptance of personal responsibility and choice.”
It’s innate! No matter how depressed, angry, hopeless, lost, and alone, we all want to be whole, and we all strive every day towards growth and harmony with one another.
How do we do this?
I read recently in the Harmony magazine that the five things we can do every day to get close to our innate connection, and to God, are the following:
Pray
Meditate
Pay attention to the words that we speak
Pay attention to the thoughts we think
And live in a state of gratitude
Doesn’t this also sound like principles of harmony?
Easy, and yet, not so easy to pull off!
We’re spiritual beings living in the shell of a human body, and we’re also human beings striving to retain our connection with God. We’re 1/2 spirit and 1/2 human. To live only in the physical, and to deny our spirituality is to ignore our divinity. We have to make conscious time in our busy lives to disconnect and reconnect with our true nature.
Before you get angry at someone, before you find fault with another, watch your thoughts and pay close attention to what words fall out of your mouth onto the ears of another. You are responsible for the harmony in the world. If being in it causes you to be anxious, angry, disheartened, then remove yourself from the situation for a moment, sit down, be in silence, pray, meditate, pause, and be still. Reconnect to your Self/spirit and with your maker. And then, before you step back into reality, think about all the good in the world and give thanks! There’s always something that brings joy and goodness: planets, seasons, breath we take, sunshine on our shoulders, smile, a helping hand, clothes on our body, house we live in, pets, food on our tables, music, art, birdsong, and so much more.
I challenge you to be aware, to take responsibility, and to choose to be the hand, heart, and creator of harmony-not the warrior of hate. For in doing so, you will change the way you see and change the way you live!
